Kids Games Under Five
Do you have little tykes who require kids games under five years of age? You've come to the right place for suggestions!
Pre-school children have huge imaginations and often have no problem coming up with game ideas of their own, but it's helpful to have some parental guidance for a few more common-sense approaches. The popular children games of ring-around-the-rosy, tag, and hide and seek are terrific for this age group, along with some other inventive games.
For kids games under five, how about a fun in the sun game of "Wet and Wild"? All you need for this cool happening is a rotating lawn sprinkler or a water hose that has a sprinkler attachment.
- Appoint someone to be in charge of the faucet.
- Start with the sprinkler turned off.
- Have the kiddos jump and dance around the sprinkler area.
- Turn the sprinkler on.
- Have the children stop in their positions!
- Tell the youngsters to stay in their crazy positions until the water has been turned off.
- Start the fun again!
Has Spring sprung in your part of the world? If so, a Spring Scavenger Hunt is appropriate! Give your kiddos some clues that will direct them to find signs of the season's arrival.
Draw these clues on pieces of paper and let the children scout the yard for the answers. Some of the clues might be sounds that you can detect with your eyes closed! Perhaps the tweeting of robins and the chirping of crickets are common in your neighborhood.
Is it a perfect day for indoor activities? How about a game of "Animal Sounds Bingo"?
- Make each child a game card with nine squares.
- Add a star to the center square for a free space.
- Fill the remaining squares with stickers of eight different animal pictures. (Each card should have the same animals but in different orders on the cards.)
- Begin play by having the kids mark their cards with buttons when they hear a parent (or teacher) call out an animal noise that matches a sticker.
- When a player covers a row or column, he calls out "Bingo!"
Ready for more fun? Typical of fun-filled, indoor, kids games under five is an obstacle course! Use pillows and other safe household objects to build the course. Tie some balloons under a table and have part of the course run through the balloons. The goal is to see if each child can maneuver the course without popping any of the balloons!
You get the idea - pretty much anything goes with kids games under five.
