Tree decorations are turn into cherished keepsakes even as they start out simply as a great kid's Christmas craft. And you should plan to make some snowflake window decorations for all the passers-by to see.
Do you have some old greeting cards from last Christmas? Cut out the picture, and a piece of construction paper the same size. Glue the picture onto the paper, use a hole-puncher, and add a paperclip for the ornament hanger.
Children are very proud of their creations, and love to bask in their parents' bursting admiration! Look around your house . . . I'll bet you have plenty of goodies on hand to make some wonderful kids Christmas crafts.
How about making reindeer puppets out of lunch bags? If you have some wiggly eyes and pipe cleaners, you're in business. Want to get a bit more detailed with the reindeer's antlers? Make some for your children or their classmates to wear! You'll need red and brown construction paper, scissors, and a stapler.
- Cut a three-inch wide strip of red construction paper that's long enough to fit around your child's head.
- Staple the ends of the cut paper together.
- Stack two pieces of the brown construction paper together and trace one of your child's hands on it.
- Cut out the pattern of the hand.
- Separate the hand cutouts and staple each one to the red headband, toward the front of the headband, a little apart from each other.
- Add stickers and sequins for added shimmer.
