Are you looking for ideas for childrens games at christmas parties that are always fun to create and play? Are you looking for some game and party ideas for a church Christmas party or one that you're hosting at your home?
Why not start your party with a game of Christmas charades? This is a great icebreaker. Play this as you would a regular game of charades, only use titles of Christmas carols.
- Divide into two teams.
- Have scraps of paper with the name of a carol written on each piece of paper.
- One team member at a time draws a strip of paper and acts out the Christmas carol.
- When his or her teammates guess the name of the song, they have to sing it out loud for everyone's musical enjoyment. This game goes back and forth between teams. There is no need to have a winner, simply make sure all team members get a chance to play.
What better way to come up with ideas for childrens games at Christmas parties than to ask the kiddos what games they enjoy? Most games can be tweaked to have a Christmas theme.
How about a variation of the good ol' game of beanbag toss? We call it our snowball toss. You'll need a large piece of cardboard with Frosty drawn on one side.
- Cut a good-sized hole in the belly, or add a few more holes for older kiddos.
- Wrap marshmallows in plastic wrap (preferably red or green).
- Use a bucket to hold the "snowballs".
- Put some type of lid behind Frosty to catch the snowballs.
- Place a strip of tape to mark the tossing distance.
- Line the children up behind the line, and give each youngster three tries to toss a snowball into Frosty's belly.
Mark the distance according to the age of the kiddos. Rewards can be given for one snowball or all three, depending on the age and talents of the players!
The Christmas season is all the reason you need to have a party and play some festive holiday games. Just put your Santa cap on, and I'm sure you'll come up with all kinds of ideas for childrens games at Christmas parties!
