Halloween Games for Kids
At our house, every October ends with for halloween games for kids! Your little goblins are all excited about approaching holiday games. Halloween is a good time to get your creative juices flowing!
A terrific interactive game between parents and children is called "trick-for-a-treat".
- Each adult has a bag with candy and a bag with pieces of paper in it.
- On the slips of paper, write a "trick" the child has to do in order to get a piece of candy.
- The kids go to each adult to get their candy.
Some suggestions of the "trick" could be: Sing the ABC's to the tune of the "Oscar Meyer Weiner Song" (if possible!). Another example would be to name five presidents, or do 10 jumping jacks while turning around.
Make the tricks easier for the little ones, but toughen it up a bit for the teens. This game is a real favorite at our house!
How about using the actual word "Halloween" as a Halloween game for kids?
- Put the word "Halloween" on a big board for everyone to see.
- Have everyone write down how many words they can make from "Halloween."
- Allow approximately 10 minutes for the kiddos to think about word choices.
- Give a prize to the winner (with the most correctly spelled words) and don't forget to include the runners-up, too.
There are lots of possibilities here — we even had one young man try to spell the word "hemorrhoid" from the word "Halloween." I think we gave him an award for creativity! (By the way, you should be able to come up with about 80 words.)
What other time of year do you get to dress up and eat all the candy you want? It's all part of the fun of halloween games for kids.
