Christmas Children Crafts

Christmas children crafts are especially popular at our home, and fun for old and young alike! We start talking about these crafts in September!
One good craft idea is to jazz up your table with name cards ? they're easy and lots of fun for the kids.
Get a list of everyone who's coming to dinner, and make a name card for each person's spot at the table. Ask the person in charge (your mom or dad) where everyone should sit, and put your name cards at those places!
You'll need poster board or construction paper (firm enough to stand up when folded), glitter, glue, markers, paints, stickers ? whatever you choose - to make the name cards look festive. Simply make sure the names are easy to read so people will know where to sit. Your holiday table will look beautiful!
My personal favorite Christmas children craft is creating a holiday chain. Make it a countdown-to-Christmas chain!
- Count how many days are left before Christmas.
- Cut colored construction paper into strips, about 2 inches wide and 5 inches long (perhaps red and green paper?).
- Make sure you have one strip for each day.
- Fold the first strip into a loop, and glue or tape it closed.
- Make a chain by looping the next strip through the first and so on until your strips are done.
For the little tykes, number each strip so they can keep track of how many days until Christmas arrives! For teens, it's a terrific idea to add reminders such as "visit Aunt Martha" or "bake cookies for the shelter" or any other good deeds that would be enjoyed by the giver and recipient alike.
Close your eyes and try to recall what made your family Christmas so special when you were a kid. I'm sure you'll remember that creating christmas children's crafts was an extra special time for you and your entire family!
